WHAT WE DID

B&D Industries, Inc. was part of the design-build team to construct PNM’s 32,000 square foot Data Center. The building consisted of 27,000 square feet of raised computer flooring. This unique challenge required B&D to complete all of the over head and under floor prior to dropping the floor in place. B&D installed all of the electrical, lighting, fire alarm security/access controls, three generators and a complex transformer switching system for emergency power. B&D equipped the building with a 3,000 amp double ended switchgear system with a 480 volt circuit breaker. Also, voice and data communications were installed in the administrative portion of the building.

B&D worked with the HVAC Contractor, IT Contractor and General Contractor very closely to schedule the work processes to ensure a coordinated effort. In addition, B&D worked with the engineering firm to commission the electrical system for a LEED certification. This was the first LEED Silver certified data center in the United States.

B&D received an award for Exemplary Work from the Associated General Contractors of America for this project.
