WHAT WE DID

B&D has been a key contributor from project inception to the present day on the Data Center VLL and VCN Campus developments, playing a critical role in supporting Cupertino Electric, the prime electrical contractor. Spanning across 10 data center buildings and approximately 6 million square feet, our team provided comprehensive electrical infrastructure solutions, delivering systems built to meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and operational efficiency.

Comprehensive Electrical Installation Across Campuses

B&D’s scope encompassed a wide array of services, including:

  • Site Lighting & Power Infrastructure
  • Security, Telecommunications & AV Conduit Systems
  • Heat Trace & Leak Detection Installations
  • Administrative Building Electrical Systems
  • Fire Alarm & VESDA System Integration

Our multidisciplinary expertise ensured seamless collaboration and execution across multiple complex systems.

Site Lighting, Site Power & Guardhouse Integration

B&D was responsible for the end-to-end installation of site lighting systems, which included courtyard, walkway, landscape, and pole-mounted lighting. We provided:

  • Construction and installation of concrete pole bases
  • Complete raceway systems: conduit, wiring, trenching, and backfilling
  • Integration of EV charging stations (chargers supplied by Prime)
  • Emergency Blue Phone installation

In addition, we played a key role in the electrical outfitting of the VCN Campus guardhouse, a small yet intricate and mission-critical facility that demanded precision execution.

Security, AV, Heat Trace & Leak Detection Systems

We delivered critical infrastructure to support the facility’s safety and monitoring operations, including:

  • AV and structured cabling conduit rough-ins across all buildings, including wireless access points
  • Security conduits for door access, surveillance, and rooftop-mounted cameras
  • Leak detection cabling for lateral and overflow drains, including integration with 64 monitoring panels (8 probes each), with dedicated 20A circuits
  • Heat trace elements on the Interior Water Supply and Return piping in penthouses and air-handling units, along with centralized heat control panels

Throughout this scope, our team provided design support and layout collaboration to optimize system performance.

Administration Building Electrical Infrastructure

B&D executed a full-scale electrical installation in the (4) administration buildings and their supporting areas. Our contributions included:

  • Branch circuit installations for lighting and power
  • Supply and installation of all lighting fixtures, exit signs, and canopy lights
  • Integration of the WattStopper lighting control system
  • Emergency lighting inverters and distribution panels for reliable power backup
  • Installation of infrastructure supporting baseboard heaters, motorized and radiant doors, and other equipment
  • Grounding systems to ensure safety and code compliance
  • Complete cable tray design and installation in all (4) administration buildings
Fire Alarm & VESDA System Deployment

Our fire and life safety team designed and installed a fully integrated Fire Alarm and VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) network, featuring:

  • Fire alarm panel power and terminations
  • Integration with annunciation devices, HVAC interlocks, and initiating devices
  • BACnet IP-capable microprocessor panels with full command/control functions
  • Seamless VESDA integration for early smoke detection
  • Final commissioning to NFPA 3 standards, ensuring full compliance and operational readiness
