WHAT WE DID

B&D Industries, Inc. served as the general and electrical contractor for this design-build project consisting of a 25,000 square foot, three-story office building. The IGPP building holds occupancy of approximately 120 people with mixed occupancy types from secretarial, lobby, conference room, individual offices and multi-office spaces. The building also required a space for the electrical, mechanical, security and communication rooms. Special features included a sound masking system and ample natural lighting, offering a comfortable office environment.

The design is in line with Sandia’s Workplace of the Future program for building a LEED Gold certified building. B&D’s design included a building efficiency of 75 percent. The B&D team installed exterior shading screens on the west and east elevations to reduce solar gain by 60 percent. All offices are equipped with a complete voice and data communications system throughout the entire building. The building is certified LEED Gold, satisfying the most current building codes, SNL design guide and SNL design-build building specifications.
