Installation of ASU Macrotechnology Tool
One of the projects we’ve been lucky enough to work on is for Arizona State University, which happens to be one of B&D’s top customers for our Arizona office. Arizona State University is a public metropolitan research university, located on five campuses spread across the Phoenix metropolitan area, and four regional learning centers throughout Arizona. For our partnership, B&D was asked to install two tools for the ASU MacroTechnology Works located on their Tempe campus. And due to our distinguished reputation at the Intel site for successfully installing tools, we were asked to perform as a subcontractor for this project by General Contractor, Hensel Phelps. The scope of work for the project consisted of installing and powering up to two tools, and providing and installing all the gear and the main feeders.
The general contractor and the owner were very satisfied with B&D’s performance throughout the project, B&D was their contractor of choice at the job site and they saw value in awarding us with more scope. “The key to this project’s success was teamwork. Everyone in our B&D team cared about the other and did whatever it takes to make the whole team successful. We also had a team attitude with our customers, giving them the best service and relationship they could ever get,” stated Project Manager, Nadine Daoud.
Electrical Installation of ASU Main Video Board
Another Arizona State University partnership came to be when B&D was chosen as the prime electrical contractor for the ASU Main Video Board Electrical Installation project. And it was a large one, with the Sun Devil’s media video display board towering four stories high and sitting over ASU’s main north-end stadium. Our team at B&D performed the entire electrical scope, to include the lighting and providing power to the LED panels, as well as air conditioning units. Interestingly enough, the display board itself is among the 10 largest video boards in college football, sitting at an incredible 47 feet high and 113 feet wide. The high-definition board displays replays and statistical updates, graphics, and videos to increase fan involvement and engagement during the season.
Electrical Contracting for F-35 Maintenance Hangar Construction at Luke Air Force Base
Along with our work at Arizona State University, we’ve also completed a project at the Luke Air Force Base (LAFB) located in the state. In fact, B&D performed as the electrical contractor for the new construction of the F-35 Maintenance Hangar just this last year. The hangar facilitates maintenance operations for the F-35 Lightning II jets and is a massive 18,740 square feet space that even includes a drive-thru, four-position aircraft maintenance bay for F-35 aircraft. Additionally, the facility includes a tool room, a break room, toilet rooms, and a janitor closet.
Recently, Luke Air Force Base just changed its mission to include training for the F-35s, and plans to house 144 of the F-35 aircraft by 2024! They also intend on hosting pilots from around the world to mark a new era for the base, which was originally commissioned back in 1941.
